For best results achieving a 'real' bass sound.....
just use a bass guitar!
Simple, really......If this is not an option, try something like a Motif or Triton, or something like HALion, or Reason Sampler (NN19) etc
The Virus would be the
last place I go looking for a 'real' bass sound...
