Just an FYI, Dell has some software that comes installed on there machines that can cause issues with Highend Audio/video software. A friend had the same issues. He ended up using the Dell machine but reformatting the hard drive and installing a Copy of XP pro and ditched the Dell setup. The machine is not bad but the software and operating config it ships with is not optimized for Professional Audio use. Last but not least when running Audio apps it is best to shut all background processes off that are not needed. This includes virus software and firewalls. I would disconnect from internet and shut off all programs runing in background.
