I am a big fan of analog sounds myself....I previously had thought that software/ VAs had replicated the sound that analogue machines can produce but now I think otherwise.
My old Juno 60, which has never really worked properly (since I owned it) produces some beautiful bass that I can seem to get with the Virus. Its a subtle difference, but one that I miss (My Juno's battery drains itself constantly so its basically unusable)
Having said that, the virus is amazingly versatile. The wait has just given me time to get over the initial excitement of 'integration'. I agree USB is probably enough - I use only a fraction of what midi can do...but the temptation of a big analog synth is strong -especially since my Juno has died.
