What about starting from C. Get a C programming gudie book from your local library and study the basic syntax of C (looping, conditional statements, functions, etc). Much more comfortable to continue to Csound from there.
Also on that C period you notice are your brains twisted enough for programming - Afterall programming is pure cold logic, maths and planning algortihms inside your cranium. If you have problems in mathemathical "machine-like" thinking, you have a long rocky road ahead.
