I think the advantage of using Virus Control is that you can then copy the user-programmed arp from one patch to another, something you cannot do from the synth front panel.

The ARP42 was just the programmers choice of name for the Midi file...He could of called it Doggysdangleberries.mid
And as your Man says,Arp patterns are within the patch which is within the midi file...We have our own soundset with loads of different Arp patterns on certain patches (Great for house music)
