Yeh - Im with you on the drawing thing, but I do like to be able to record automations and have the option to tweak some odd bit somewhere (maybe in the note data) and not have to go and do the whole auto sequence again
I even treat guitars like this - record wet and dry audio + midi automation to the guityar processor so i can change my mind about stuff without having to record the original guitar bit again (cos it takes me bloody ages to get it right)

I hear you. It?s just that i can?t help myself drawing around if i can. Ok, i do try not to but sometimes it?s just easier an i?m a lazy guy

If i was forced to do all knob movements manually i would also get training in geting it right. A little like lerning to play a new instrument and as a side effect i would get knob movements with "a human feel"
