One push at a button

You can also press "single" and "multi" together to use the multisingle mode. Multisingle mode works the same way as multimode except that you can edit a part as if you where in single mode and then switch to another part with the "part" buttons and edit this etc.

As said above, use multisingle mode and switch between the channels with the "part" butoons.

And, do the voices go down when used in this mode?

Yes and no. The total number of voices availeble is the same in multi/multisingle mode as in single mode but since you intend to use it multitimbral you will of course have more parts playing at once and these parts will each take up voices as they where in single mode.
Example: Virus is set to multi/multisingle mode and 3 parts/channels are playing at the same time. Part/channel 1 is using 4 voices, part/channel 2 is using 8 voices and part/channel 3 is using 6 voices. The total number of voices used is 18.
So if you mean "does the total number of voices go down by using multi/multisingle mode" the answer is no but if you mean "does the number of voices used increase when using more part at the same time" the answer is yes.
