Shaved my head for the first time last year as it started thinning and you could see the patches of baldness beginning (or I could but no one else really noticed.) I was quite distraught at the time as I had lovely spiked highlighted David Beckam hair which always went down well with the ladies.
I tried many 'remedies' to cure it like Minoxidil topical lotion, Procepia and Avodart. I even went to one of those advanced hair studio clinics where Shane Warne and Graham Gooch apparently go to sort their baldness out, but after reading scare stories on the net about them I decided not to go ahead with it.
After speaking with a whole load of people and reading up it seems the only sure way is a hair transplant like Elton John had. Over the counter remidies can work for some people, but its never the same again and you have to keep them up for life.
Now I am quite happy with the old Freddie Ljungberg / Beckham shaved head look, it seems to attract a different type of women
I am just hoping it doesnt get so bald I have to revert to the Jean Luc Pickard / Vin Diesel bic all over look one day
Small tip, it looks a lot better with a sun tan.
