adrian,
Mac's are great and everything just works, and yet we are talking about the TI drivers and Leopard not working. I have a lifetime of support of PC's to have good reason to hate a lot about them, but XP is stable and all my gear worked on it. After 4 months of the release of Leopard I thought it was safe to get a Mac - and 2 of my devices do not have up-to-date drivers. Personally the audio interface of the TI is not the most important aspect, but I wanted to use it temporarily while my firewire interface was waiting on its driver. I'm going to guess everyone on Leopard has the UserEventAgent error and just doesn't know it. Whatever is wrong, I don't want it on my lovely new Mac.
I know enough about computers to know that everyone's experience is completely different. From the moment you first switch it on, your experience is uniquely yours. Have you set up 20 computers out of the box all with the manufacturer's disk image? They don't all do the same thing - I've seen it over and over again. Your firewire solo driver is incompatible with Leopard - M-audio are working on it but the new beta is quite good. I suspect you just haven't noticed the exceptions going on under the hood.
PC's have a shocking history of bugs and bad design. But Mac's have a bad habit of major changes leaving the user waiting for application and driver upgrades.
I'm going to tactfully avoid attacking the two key manufacturers involved who should have compatible drivers at this point in time. I bought a new Mac and didn't get a good experience out of it.
Cheers,
B
