Actually, I rarely do live sessions, but if I'm on a live session I often use just one fancy lead sound from the virus and apply a cutoff filter to it. That's it for the live thing

No need for me to bounce. The rest of the tracks (drums, pads, etc.) are coming right out of my DAW (Ableton Live). And I assigned my M-Audio Axiom Midi-controller to the filters in Abletons Live or the VSTi to modify these sounds (which I rarly do).
In studio sessions I actually have four different virus tracks in my DAW (Logic

and I bounce them seperatly to audio after applying effects etc.
