Light peak will be more for hard drives and such due to the fact that it suffers from distance limitations.
USB3 won't be fully supported by intel until either next year or even 2012 so if access announce anything new at NAMM it won't support those technologies.
Firewire while it's not the most popular it's still the most proven way of streaming more channels of audio externally than usb 1 & 2.
