I think you are being very unfair :P
'exactly' did not really mean 'exactly'.
The Virus and JP-8080 are both subtractive VA-type synths with what appears to me to be
very similar feature sets.
There is a
lot of JP-8080 sounds which can be replicated on the Virus and vice-versa.
It sounds like
c mode has a limited budget and is looking to only buy 1 synth.
If he (/she) already has a Virus then a JP-8080 (a subtractive VA synth) will not offer any (many) new sounds or facilities.
