on C there is a SYSTEM setting "KnobMode" called "SNAP" that allows you to see the value without changing it

Quote:
When you adjust a knob In Snap Mode, the original setting determines the value until the point where the movement of the knob passes beyond this position. In other words, the parameter does not jump to the value as in JUMP Mode. However, keep in mind that your adjustments have no effect on the parameter until the knob “snaps” on at the position equivalent to the original value.
The drawback is you have to look at the display when first changing a setting to see where you have to turn the knob so that it starts to register.

BTW arturia uses a technology that allows the beat step pro to know when you are touching a knob even without moving/turning it. It's so sensitive that sometimes you don't even need to touch it directly, just move close to the knob. It would be so useful if it was implemented in all newer synths.
