Well, after a lot of soul-searching, I decided to go with a totally different option altogether:
an SKB mil-spec case. Not only are these things absolutely indestructible and water-proof, but the extra six inches of internal space I will get will allow me to pack my headphones, power and USB cable, and maybe even a foot pedal in with the TI Polar. This one also has a handle and wheels which will come in handy I am sure.
They are a little pricey (the cheapest one I found was
$259.99) but seem to be around the same price as the other options I looked at.
