I guess there will always be a very slight lag when using external midi equipment, compared to the audio in the PC. Sounds that don't have an instantaneous Attack will also sound like they are lagging. I wouldn't worry about it too much anyway - in Logic, just set the Delay parameter in the Virus sequences to an appropriate (minus) value to compensate.
