Well.........its been taken down off the site......this has happened many times before so im not suprised.

Well theres certainly going to be a new synth for 2009....thats for sure. I'm sorry you guys didnt get the chance to see it, must have only been up for a matter of hours...maybe less than an hour.

I wish I had screen printed it when i had the chance. Basically (from memory) the new virus is going to feature:

1) Advanced FM/Formant and Wavetable synthesis akin to DX7/FS1r and Wavestation/PPG Wave. User samples via TI. Joystick for manipulation.

2) True analog filters modelled on the classic Virus digital filters. I did not note the number but should allow for 16 voices I should imagine

3) Total Integration via USB2 (standard) and Firewire (optional)

4) New Vocoder

5) Synth will be jet black in color with legends in white type face (think Prophet 5) and logos in Red/Blue, wood sidepanels. I have to admit it reminds me of a cross between an OB8, Prophet 5, Juno 60 and Jupiter 8. From the picture I saw.....its the best looking Virus yet....and possibly (almost) pips the JP8 (which is my all time favourite).

Thats all I can remember folks. I cant add to that until they officially announce it.

Cheers

DS

The SynthWizard has some advice - Back in the 1980's music was better, TV was better, films were better. Not to mention fashion.... Let me help you relive the past with some classic 80's sounds from my vintage synth collection....
