Default Spectrum Analyzer interpretation

yo!

who can help me understand the spectrum anlyzer curves ? i know it shows frequencies but how to interpret it ? how should a good mix's curve look like and what are the different types of analysis ? i mean do all the analyzers show the same curve (basic SX analyzer and Waves PAZ for eg.) ?

When using PAZ analyzer, first of all don't forget to click twice on the 40hz
button untill it shows 10hz - that's to "see" what's going on with low-end
from 250hz and down. Then check out your favorite tunes trough the
analyzer to see how a perfect mix should look like - visually.

In your sequencer you better insert the analyzer into master-effects,
to be able checking out each instrument on solo trough it.

Dont forget....

First and foremost, rely on your ears, NOT on your eyes!

A spectrum analyzer can be usefull if you hear some problems or discrepancies, and then a quick check on the analyzer to confirm suspicions etc....

In this computer age, we are relying on our vision alot, which can be dangerous. When you want to listen to your mix, turn off your computer monitors, shut your eyes, and open your ears!

Good luck!
