I'm quite interested in this thing.

It seems that it emulates a bongo drum or something with 8 "pads".

Have i gotten it right?

Yup, I have one - although it has many more than 8 pads, plus a D-beam and 2 strips. I don't really use it for the bongo style stuff though - a bit mediocre really - fun and pretty realistic to play though. It has many better sounds than the bongos.

I use mine for creating most of the high end precussion in my tracks. It has some cool variprase-like editing which lets you fuck around with sounds to create new stuff. I mostly use mine for triggering beats off the sampler though.

Would I buy it again though? Nope I probably wouldn't. I'd buy just the pads with out the onboard sounds and trigger the sampler.

If you go to my Electromancer link in my signature, then listen to "And I" - all the drums in that track are sounds from the Handsonic - even the kick compression was onboard from it. Also the other tracks there....Pretty much all the high end precussion of those are Handsonic too.
