Disassemble a KC - please help!

I?ve come at the end of disassembling it, except the guys who designed this synth did everything in their power to ensure no one else than themselves could disassemble it. But the last obstacle (so far) is the right side of the synth. The whole top panel is loose and ready to go off, but it stops at the right side, at the key all the way to the right. It seems like something meaningless metal is screwed into the right ?wood? panel, inside, so you simply can?t take it off.

Have anyone disassembled a KB/KC before and has some nice tips?

I have fully disassembled an Indigo (v1).

Not a pretty task as it's very invasive (ie. you have to dismantle it almost completely to literally get anywhere) and there are two circuit boards, but it's still certainly 'do-able' for anyone with confidence and a screw driver.

I'll get around to swapping the pots out soon. I've just been using the Virus a lot lately and doing studio upgrades.

I suspect that that is a cable which attaches itself to a couple of boards.
I can't fully remember if it's detachable or not. I remember there was one cable that connected say the headphone or power switch to the PCBs (circuit boards), but there was another cable that I couldn't detach. You can see it in this picture:



.... the way the left hand PCB is flipped over from the bottom-right aluminium fascia, but is still adjoined by a cable.

I found a couple or so loose pots when I received it 2nd hand (must've been the way it was handled via post, grrr), so I took it apart to see what would need to be done to actually get to the pots and replace them.

and what about you DSV0 ?

I have to repair it! Access has made a terrible product with this one I got! The synth made it self trough the warranty period, but from there it only went one way: Downwards!

Don?t get me wrong! I love this synth, and that?s why I taking the bother of doing all this. But the fact is that this synth is far away from decent quality and durability!

As I said; I need to fix some problems. I also need to make it stronger and more durable, fix the cracking key problem, and fix a heating issue that makes the synth hang up (don?t know how to do this yet though).

Later this year I?ll install silent fans, if the heating problem still exists. I?ll also make it more attractive: Paint it blood-red, put on real teak side panels, install purple leds, pink LCD-light, install neon lights inside it so the keys glows, and print blue flour labels and text on it.

But first I need to get it working again!
