Default updating OS and instaling new soundbanks

Hello, im a new Virus kc owner! Ive spent some TI budget on the KC, to get my sounds going! (ill get a ti later, when its been released for a while, and properly tested)

I have downloaded the os 6.5 (I have 6 installed now). Iva also downloaded a few preset banks!

In short words, how do I get the stuf into the virus KC!

Ive done this sort of thing a few times before, with a sequencer. You play of a midifile while the synth is conected, and is in a spesific update mode, right?

all u need to do is:

- load your midi file
- give that midi track the same channel number as your virus global channel (u set this in the sys menu)
- make sure it is properly connected (OUT Soundcard -> IN Virus)
- hit play !!

Virus will automatically recognize data being transmitted and will put it in the right place.

Beware when installing a new OS, you must not interrupt the process when the data is being burnt into the ROM, otherwise it may damage it!

Is it the same prosedure with sound banks? And how do you choose where it gets? Bank A/B/C/D?

that information is stored in the midi file you will dump, you don't have to worry about it, all you need to worry about is your current banks! make sure you save them somewhere before loading new banks, otehrwise they will be overwritten.

By the way, only A & B can be loaded, the others are ROM (Read Only), and you have to flash patches one by one into them (there is a Flash->something in the sys menu i think)

cheers
