Indeed. "Your Gay" implies you own a gay, he is your gay.

It amazes me that people are still using the word gay as an insult, especially on a public forum. All it really does is highlight one's own narrow mind.
I do it myself when I'm not thinking, and my best friend whom I share a house with is gay. It's about time we all used something else.
No idea what though...

Hmmm.....I think the word "Gay" has taken on new meaning, and no longer ties itself with homosexuals.
It's almost like saying something is shit. I think there are other words for homosexuals that are far worse and insulting than the word "Gay". Still, Im not so sure if it is P.C
Im about as open minded and non-judgemental as one gets, but I still find myself using negative slang that some might find demeaning to minority groups, or races even. Sometimes they just come out.

This is exactly what I mean. It's become a generic term to mean anything wrong, bad, out of place, shit, and all the rest of it. It might not be that people use the word to mean "You are homosexual, and therefore wrong" but the fact that this word has grown out of that way of thinking over the years is an insult for people who are gay, They are constantly reminded that the general accepted meaning of the word gay is meaning wrong and out of place.
Although my friend knows that I do not mean Homosexual when I use the word gay to describe anything shit, it is still rooted in the notion that gay means wrong, and that does nothing for his self esteem. So, I feel like I should stop using this word to mean something is bad (as funny and perfectly suited as it now seems), because those who are gay can't feel particularly good about people still using this term.

From Oxford Advanced Learner?s Dictionary:
Gay:
1 Happy and full of fun; light-hearted; cheerfull: gay laughter, music - The streets look gay with their bright flags and coloured lights.
2 Careless; thoughtless: spending money with gay abandon.
3 Homosexual: a gay person, club, bar - I didn?t know he/she was gay.
