Default Very... Very Disappointing...

Guys I feel utterly and totally gutted after stumbling across this forum. I am extremely glad that I did as I was totally unaware of this rather obvious issue of Access releasing the TI range at a Beta Stage (some may say Alpha looking at the glaring problems!) The loyal people who waited for months and bought this system have my fullest sympathies and clearly deserve much better.

I was just in the throes of sinking ?5000 into a totally virtual studio. My core plan was to get an Apple Dual G5 using Logic 7 revolving around the Access Ti keyboard. Not any more.

Having demo'd this bit of kit - for over 4 hours the sounds and playability are second to none. It is fantastic. But...

Who wants a professional piece of equipement that basically does not do what it says on the tin? Access have clearly pulled a fast one.

No doubt some so called "non-member" of Access will attempt to pull this email apart. From what I have read on this forum no doubt the same sort of person(s) who make occasional "guest appearances" to mention that this is not an "official" forum and to not offer any constructive help in any way shape or form (apart from making excuses and being defensive.)

Poor effort guys. I am not impressed. But I would be if you can tell me when there will be a fully working software upgrade available so that I can run my Apple G5 - Logic 7 - Access Ti set-up glitch free?

Of course not... this is an un-official forum.

Hi & Welcome to our forum

Are you an exisiting member of the unofficial TI forum? I know its down at the moment. Weve had quite a few people come from there and post here too...

I hear what your saying....and I cant fundementally disagree with you as i've never laid hands on a TI. I think a little bit of perspective is needed when viewing the current situation. Forget the TI aspect for one second.....the TI as it stands right now is indeed a very nice, comprehensive hardware synthesizer. As far as I understand....if used in a standalone form it works just aswell as previous versions (a, b, c). Of course there are going to be some glitches here and there.....its software after all. Problems seem to be arising when people have USB hooked up or Midi and USB hooked up at the same time. At this stage I guess its hard to tell whether its in fact a TI problem or a glitch in someones DAW setup. Contrary to conspiracy theories I think its highly unlikely Access would have released a synth they knew wouldnt be working for most people. I think its more likely that their beta testers gave the thumbs up (legitimately) without appreciating just how much of an impact peoples configurations can have on the functionality of the TI. That is an unfortunate situation....and has led people to rant and rant.....but very few people are stopping to think 'whats happening here'

I think the TI aspect will be implemented as far as possible and bug free with time. Its frustrating....I can appreciate that. But i think its wrong to go on about illegal marketing and this and that.....people are treading thin ice.....u want to get done for slander? The TI DOES DO WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN......for a small few who so happen to have an aggreable configuration....but for alot of others....it doesnt. The fact reamins....the TI aspect does work.....but in order for everyone to enjoy it....more work needs to be done. Its as simple as that.

So on the one hand...I too can totally empathise with peoples concerns, frustrations and worries. But I do feel that the ranting of the past week is serving absolutely no purpose at all......cartharcasism does not work btw.

DS

Yes, I agree with DS. There's no conspiracies going on here. Just some bad judgement perhaps, that's all. BTW, I don't think catharcasism is a real word, but I know what you mean. Perhaps there should a ranting subforum created for people to get their frustations out. Even though I wouldn't have posted my first few posts if I could do it over again, but it certainly helped.
Aside from configurations, I think that either a bad batch of TIs went out, or the updating programming is causing some problems. Maybe access could go the old school route and offer a midi OS update as well as the MSI one they're using now. Also, I'd like to be able to rever t back to the beta firmware, but I can't seem to make that happen.

Hey DS, I was just poking fun at you as indicated by the smiley face after my statement. The reason I even said anything is because when I was reading it, it tripped me up and tried pronouncing aloud and it just sounded so strange. So I thought catharsis can't be used as a verb, which sent me on an internet hunt. In my book, you're pretty damn cool if you randomly make up words or use them in ways never intended. In fact, that's a big part of how the English language develops over time anyways. People just like you. So consider yourself a part of history, well at least if we start seeing that word pop up now.

That was probably the most logical thing I've seen you write DS! Maybe your decision to stop taking the mind altering substances while frequenting those gay bars was a good choice for you.

Hehe, I wanted to have a go at some slander too!

But in defence of the MonkeyMan...

I feel a little sorry for the people who have bought a TI and are having trouble too. I'm pretty sure Access will get the bugs sorted for all users eventually, but after the release date fuckups, it just seems like a safer bet to sit back and watch.
