just had a go with the new PC version this weekend and... i wasnt impressed either, dont see why people were so excited about this
it does compressor pumping effect like,
i prefer my voxengo softy VCA emulation compressor for doing that.

the new URS 70 and 80s compressor boundle (emulated after famouse ssl console compressors) is very exciting, too bad i dont have the money for it.

I tried it too, but really couldn't find what kind of audio material it would be particularly suited to. It just annihilated and sapped the clarity out of everything tried. I guess it was ok when used at the minimum setting to push something slightly back, instead of having a particular sound right in your face, but apart from that...

It's actually not bad on drumloops (if you really crank up the settings) particularly if you then send it through a filterbank/vocoder. Horses for courses hombres.

Lighten up fellas - it's made by SSL and it's free.
