Default Ahh!! Virus Tweakers Help!!

so my biggest gripe I have with the TI (could be just mine) is that I still don't have confidence that the sounds that I tweak will be recalled exactly as I saved them. This has happened before on several occasions (before the beta and subsequent round of major bug fixes) and now it has happened again. The problem is that it is sporadic. Some patches I tweak and save (and then recall when opening my daw) recall just fine.

Here is an example. I did a whole bunch to this patch - changes to the osc, filter, efx, etc. Can't really recall what exactly I changed as I was tweaking on the fly. I saved my tweaked patch, both in my personal library as well as with my daw project (Live 6). Shutdown the system. When i came back later and opened that project, the patch sound was different. I then tried loading the tweaked patch from the personal library and same exact issue.
The patch name is Syrys BC. Before I shutdown, i recorded the tweaked patch in realtime.

Here is the tweaked patch that I wanted saved
www.docjones.net/access/sound/good.mp3

Here is the sound that gets recalled when I open the project
www.docjones.net/access/sound/notgood.mp3

This is really bumming me out as the patch that I tweaked really flowed perfectly with the beat that I created. And given that I am still relatively new to sound tweaking, I am not sure how to get it back.

Any ideas?

that's a blast from the past, I sorry I cannot remember how to fix it because it never happened to me. But If you search you'll get the answer, try recalling the patch from your personal lib, but I think you are best restarting VC first and trying that. Your changes if saved at the correct point should be saved, hope you find the answer

Cheers
Kris

Could be in your tweaking you also turned the 3 soft knobs, that were set up to do things in the matrix page etc. Say you left them at values other than zero when you recall the patch it's going to sound different. Ranging from slightly different to heaps different.
The only way to include these temp soft knob values is to record those tweaks as cc data in your song etc.
Sometimes in patch creation I like the sound of a soft knob set to something other than zero, so i have to set up a matrix data entry value instead of the controller / soft knob assign.

Hi guys, thanks for the suggestions.

Kris, unfortunately I already tried the Save to Personal Libraries route (hoping that the recall from Live was causing the issue) but still same issue.

Grs, not a bad idea. I am still a little inexperienced working with the mod matrix, but am going to focus on it tonight. Just curious, but if it is a soft knob issue, wouldn't retweaking those soft knobs bring the sound back to the tweaked state that I had it in before I saved it?
I have tried every soft knob combination I can think of and can't seem to be able to get the sound back.

I would agree with grs - most likely to be a performance controller issue - soft knobs, modwheel, pedal and a bunch of midi ccs are all counted as performance controls and are reset to zero when a patch is changed - only way to get them remembered is through DAW / seq automation.
