You should be able to re-create that sound pretty easily with a TI, its got plenty of sounds to equal if not better that, try some compression or sidechaining to get it to punch and stand out

Not as easy as it sounds. The lower part is easy. I always try to re-create that sound... I've failed as usual.... "whoah" is me. Good luck!

It might actually just be the original bass sound run through a spacial delay then heavily tube distorted and band pass filtered.
Could probably do it on a fireworx easily...

I did get close with the MiniMoog Compressed to Fuck and DSP vintage warmer and the Sony inflator on top of it...

I was also thinking it was a Very short hard Delay on top of a hard bass...I call that type of Bass a "fast scratchy Bass"

Maybe - I should think you can get close with virus variation of ring mod or classic mode FM or as you say - sync.
The key is its a high energy and punchy sound - and that usually means something that *adds* harmonics if yor starting point is a traditional analog waveform - all of the above (fm, ring, sync) will do that. I would vote for heavy virus ring mod abuse with distortion *or* use a wavetable sound - there are plenty in the TI can than approximate this in both classic and wavetable modes as a starting point. Graintable mode should get you very close as well.
To fully repro the whole on a virus - use multi mode - one patch for the original bass sound, out of the virus into mixer, route to a send back to virus inputs and delay distort and bp filter.
Would need more work of course, but those would be my starting points.
Siome nice env tweaking going on there as well...

I did a few of those electro house sounds for Octopus and Massive, in this case I'd probably use two oscillators, waveform should be saw, 7 semi notes +/- a few cents detuned, into two parallel bandpass filters at relatively high resonance, feeding the output of both filters it into a distortion and/or amp FX...
