Virus Rack Demo
Hi all,
I am new to this forum so this is the right occasion to say hello to everybody. I a new owner of a second hand virus rack and I am very happy with it, in particular for the rich sound palette.
Just two question: I found the headphone jack very noisy. Someone has experienced also this?
I received the virus rack expanded with new sounds, which erases the demo song from the memory. Does anyone has the MIDI file of the endorphins demo which i like very much?
Thanks in advance for any feedback, I hope there are still owners of an old virus rack here.
Regards,
Y.

Hey there,
To re-load the demo song I think you would have to revert to an old operating system, as the additional space for banks E, F, G, and H is created via deletion of the demo song.
Older versions of the Virus OS can be found on the Access webasite at:
http://www.access-music.de/support.php4
Also, there are a ton of free banks/presets on the Access website for your Virus at:
http://www.access-music.de/downloads...ct=virusc#cat2
I hope this helps.
Welcome to the forum! Enjoy your Virus Rack Synth!!!
-Alex

You can also listen to all the Virus demos on Access´s website. I don´t think you can get the MIDI file for Endorphines...

Many thanks for the replies!
I already upgraded with the latest OS version. I do no think I switch back to the previous version only for the demo. I write to Access and they told me that unfortunately they do not want to give such a Midi file. It's strange because I read that once there were a competition about remixing the Endorphines demo, at that time seems that it was possible to get this midi file.
Anyway, I try to explore this synth in a different way, but it would be nice for me to have this file as starting point for my exploration.
Thanks again.
Y.

If Access dosn´t want to give you the MIDI file you are only going to get it by copying audio to MIDI by ear or finding someone who did...

I remember the competition for the Endorphins track. Access put out a limited number of 12"s as an E.P with those that won. I've got it somewhere, wonder how many were actually pressed, maybe rare.

If u use a Mac, u can always download a program called Audio Hijack
Just select ur web browser from the Audio Hijack list and go to the Access web site, press record on Hijack then start play on Access web page where the song ur looking for is. (select a good bit rate b4 recording) Here's the link:

Many thanks again for the suggestions. But what I need is the midi file, not the audio, which is available as mp3 in the access website. The next thing that if I'll have time I just want to try is to scan the binary file of the Operating System of the Virus to check if there is a signature of a midi file, even if I thing it is a realy hard work which could lead to no success .
Rgds,
Y.

If you have a good musical ear you could listen to the song and create a MIDI file from that. Sorry for asking but why do you need that MIDI file so bad?
