Ti Desktop as Surround interface in Cubase 4? - The Unofficial Access Virus & Virus TI Forum

Hey Folks,
i`m new to this forum..so hello to all!

Right now i try to set up the Ti as a surround interface 5.1...

but in cubase 4 i can only route signals to the stereo out..

I want evry channel of the six outs routed individual...u know..

please help me out..

You cannot use your TI as a multichannel soundcard. It's mulitple outputs are for it's synthesizer outputs, and computer/ sequencer audio cannot be routed to any outputs other that Analog Outs 1 + 2.

totaly disappointed..what about s/pdif out?

could that be possible?

Not at all. Sorry brother. Spidif would need a muxed stream to output 5.1. That would not be a realtime process without expensive Dolby gear... Correct me if I'm wrong peeps.

The TI is a beast. That is not one of it's beastly abilities.

that is too sad actualy..i consider to sell it to get a better computer and a presonus firebox..

or what do you think..i got an audiofire 4 and want to play surround on partys one day..could i stick with the audiofire and just go for quadrafonic..its too bad isn`t it?

I am a long time Virus user. I love my Virus as a synth more than any other in my collection. Going through all the hassle of TI integration, OS updates, bugs upon bugs.... I am into the sound more than anything. As a matter of fact, I only use it as a synth now... Without Virus Control, the TI is one of the best sounding sythesizers in the world to my ears... I hug it and kiss it after she makes me cry with tears of joy.

Nothing sad here.

Sit with your Virus for a few years, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Yes i know it would be stupid to sell it actualy..i will sell my audiofire to get the firebox..it gots 6 outputs and i got the chance to compare to mine..

or maybe i will save up for the fireface instead..then im done with sound for several years i guess..hm

pretty difficult..have to sleep about..
