Default Why can't I 'play' the filter resonance?

I just got a TI.

I used to have the Virus C.

I remember on the 'C' I was able to play the resonance of the filter with keyfollow turned to maximum.

But if I do the same thing here on my TI, I get a very ugly sounding distortion, even though all settings in my distortion section are off.

Any ideas? This seems like a very basic patch that can be done on many synths.

Thanks!

I have made a patch exactly like that, using nothing but the noise generator and a keyboard-following high-resonance LP filter. What you're describing sounds like filter saturation. Have a look through the Edit menus for your filters to make sure they aren't set to saturate?
Also, make sure no other sources are set to modulate the Filter Freq. destination. For example if you also have velocity modulating the filter freq, it will totally screw with your ability to get it to play "notes".
