(Unsolved) Arp. sync

Sometimes when i play an arpegiated note it starts in the middle of the arpegiation and is not syncing with the drums (because my timing isnt always perfect). Is their a way to get it to be correct every time without having to-rec-edit-quantize-(The Lfos always trigger correctly so I know that its not just me)?

live playing arps is hard. You have to rec and quantize to get predictable results. Also you have to decide/edit length of held notes for arps to indicate retriger of arp or tie the pattern through a series of notes.

Yes, I also find Virus arpeggiator really basic since it has no trigger/sync modes and as far I got informed from Access they have no plans to improve it, so basically it works well for sequenced midi with perfect timing. For live arpeggiation, I think, it doesn't work well with regular rhythmic patterns spread to more than one octave and triggered from chord if trigger timing deviates from perfect. My solution to this issue is feeding Korg hardware synth arpeggiator generated midi data into Virus. Korg arpeggiator is well designed, easy to programm and I haven't experienced sync/trigger timing issues with it. There used to be also quite good vst arpeggiator - ARPocalypse and there is Sonicbytes ERA vst arpeggiator/step sequencer, which was too complex to me to understand, and there is synarp/matrix VST arpeggiator, which I couldn't get working on Ableton in first 5-10 minutes so I gave up. Actually from what I have tried only two step programmable arpeggiators work well for me - Korg TR series and Steinberg Hypersonic built in one.

This is what I do. The ESX-1 and EMX-1's control ribbons work really well for this (provided you want single note patterns rather than ARP'd broken chords).
