Default Sequencer Mode (snow) - No audio output

Hi pros,

can I have a short help on this?
I am using a (noname) software midi sequencer. Everything is fine (virus snow is usb connected and switched in sequencer mode).

When I play the midi sequence at the pc I see that the note symbol appears on the display of the snow, but no audio output (on line out l/r) will be produced. I don't know why?

A had a look in the COMMON menu and saw that surround output was Off. So I select Out1 L+R, but with no success. My idea was that since the midi is send to the snow via usb, maybe the audio is returned to the pc also via usb. If so how can I change it to the real audio out?

Best regards

Default

I got it to run. Found out that my pc uses the virus snow as sound card (when usb connected). But the snow audio out was pluged in the line-in of my pc sound card. So it seemed like a loop to nowhere.

So I removed the virus ti as possible sound output device at vista sound proberties. After I restarted the snow it worked.

So can anybody tell me what kind of benefit there is using the snow as sound card (instead of the pc sound card). Ok as I unterstood it is so possible to influence all audio data coming from the pc by sound effects (filter etc.) of the snow.

What I am planing to do is:

Software MIDI-Sequencer (play)
|
| (usb)
|
Virus Snow (manual sel. patch)
| (audio out)
|
| (line in)
PC Soundcard
|
|
Rec. Audio

Recording in e.g. audio sequencer sw like my old Samplitude Software. Later then mixing all separate recorded tracks (or parts) together.

I see you will say why not doing all tracks simultanuosly in the midi sequencer? Because the snow can only do 4 in parallel. So I will need to do the audio sequencer/mixing thing anyway.
