Default Virus Control Center Unable to find my unit

Hi everyone,

When i upgraded from OS 3.0 to 3.01 including the new firmware 2.8.14 (from 2.7.5 i think) my Virus Ti stopped to respond. In the device manager everything looks fine but the virus control center cant find it when searching for it. I really dont know what to do since ive tryed to uninstall and reinstall everything acouple of times. Ive updated my pc BiOS aswell and even tryed to install the Ti on different USB port but allways with the same result.

My Ti dosent respond to my pc what so ever but as i said, everything looks ok in the device manager..

Im using Vista 32bit and Cubase 5 on an Intel i7 system...

By the way... When i had OS 3.0 and Virus driver 2.7.5 installed everything was sweet as can be. Dont ask me why i decided to upgrade.

Is there anyone that can give me some guide lines because i am so frustrated..

Is it possible to uninstall the Ti firmware 2.8.14 and then install 2.7.5 back again?

This happened to me, too, when I upgraded to OS 3.0.1. You probably just need to reset your TI like I did.

1. Disconnect the USB cable from the TI
2. Disconnect the power cable from the TI
3. Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet
4. Reconnect the power cable to the TI
5. Reconnect the power cable to the power outlet
6. Reconnect the USB cable to the TI
7. Press and hold the ARP EDIT button for a few seconds (I usually do it for at least 10) and then let go

You should be able to connect to Virus Control Center and your DAW no problem now. I find that this happens every once in a while so it would be a good idea to remember this procedure.

Angry Same Issue, No Resolution

I am having the exact same problem with my Virus Polar TI and Cubase 5, I have tried running the reset several times in the DAW and it keeps messing up and acting incorrectly. I've uninstalled and reinstalled using the 3.0.16 software installer.

Using your reset method it connects the Virus Control up very briefly, then after a few seconds it comes up with a USB connection lost message and on the polars screen displays a Single patch as it normally does when not connected via USB or with Virus Control up.

I am on Win Xp, SP3, on a fresh installed PC, q8200 @ 2.33ghz, 4gb ddr2ram. I have never had a repeat issue with the virus control center before this update.

Please help, I am extremely frustrated.

Thank you.

Feeding,

Disconnect your TI completely. All cables out. Then let it sit off for a few minutes, then reconnect the power cable while holding down the EDIT button in the Arp section. Once the little lights blink, release and it will boot up. Then try it again.

Hey Chicago thanks for the reply,

Contacted Virus Support and after a few emails where I did the same restarts and uninstallations with no luck, the advice was to change the USB cable over and test it. Before I did the swap I did one last un/reinstall with NO usb connections (including mouse), to be safe, and still couldnt get it to work.

Swapped the cable from my Tascam US144 into the Virus and voila. Cubase 5 instadetected it, Virus Control Center worked perfectly, and the USB detections and MIDI sends are now working. Bit of a novice move on my part not to try another cable beforehand, but since it was working before the OS install I didnt think it would be be the culprit.

Quick comment to say; the Virus Support staff are VERY quick to respond and extremely polite and professional. Could not have been happier with the communication standard.

And now I can start playing with Cubase 5 and OS 3!
