Default Saying hello.. (and a VERY nice picture of the Indigo 2 :))

Hi,

I'm an Acces Virus Indigo 2 fanatic from the first time I've heard the sound demo's. I haven't gotten the chance to buy one yet, but I will somewhere next year.. (probably somewhere before july 2004) I'd love to trade patches with you guys (and gals) as soon as I get my hands on one of those beasts.

My music making experience ranges from playing a keyboard at the age of 6, getting organ technique lessons from 8 until 14 and freestyle piano and electronic stuff from then on. Except for my Casio Celviano (from 2001) I've made all my music with software like:

Trackers / Sequencers
- Pro tracker (the good old amiga days)
- Fast tracker 2 (486 days!!)
- Jeskola Buzz (since last year)

Sound editors
- Creative Labs Studio (eeew!!)
- Cool Edit Pro

As you can see, its been pretty amateuristic so far.. but thats the way I like it.. I see music as a hobby, a passion and a favorite past-time. (the way music should be, instead of a menial job where you do nothing but work towards deadlines, adjusting your sound to suit the public)

Anyway, to say hello and give you all a 'thanks for letting me join the group'-gift, here's a 3D render of the Indigo 2 I made yesterday:

Enjoy

Yeah! i agree. I still got my amiga 500 - but its at my brothers place, and i got a hardware sampler for it and i used my action replay alot to export the samples from games/demos and tried to write something similar.

Btw: Welcome mate

Hehehe.. I didn't say that to offend the folks who earn their living with it, but I can't stand all the B-artists that make crap music, and have large media corporations shove that crap down 'the public's throat.

(not that I care about 'the public', but its the act itself that I can't stand )

yep, im not against the people that make money from thier music either....im just against people selling themselves out to make money...seems to happen all too often!

octamed! ahh those were the days allright! 4 track running with 8-bit samples...i still remember the day i went from an amiga 500 to a 1200...which included such specs as a built in hard drive (of 40meg) and a whopping 4 meg a ram! unprecidented power back then! hehe

OctaMED, hehe, wicked.

You must be my age Cappie (or a twin! 8O ), as I was doing exactly the same at 12yrs old in '92, with an Amiga500+ using OctaMED. I'm sure half the stuff I did then sounded better than the stuff I come up with now, lol.

(Cubase, Logic, etc for drum-programming? Pah! Can't beat Tracker-esque interfaces for drums. I use Renoise now.)

BTW, excellent renders! Thought it was a promo photo! How did you create the actual objects - like the knobs, mod-wheels, blue-LEDs and so forth? Did you use Lightwave for creating all of it? Did you draw the fascia text/logos and LCD-screen yourself, or use pre-made images? How come you made such a great render when you haven't an IndigoII to look at?! Lol. sorry for the barage of questions, i very much liked your effort (can't you tell, lol! )

Best of luck in your music endeavours, too!

Timo
