Default New install directions

hi all,
I apologize if this is a dumb question but it's been so long since I've
dealt with software issues on the TI that I dont remember exactly what I
need to do. I have been using the TI as a VST with Windows XP and Cubase
SX3 for 6 years and it's been working perfectly. Now due to windows XP
support ending I decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1 and also upgrade to
Cubase 7. So basically I'm doing a new Virus TI installation on the PC and
on Cubase. I looked at the online manual for guidance but I don't think it was ever updated because it still talks about installing under Windows XP. Where are actual directions specific to Windows 8.1 and Cubase 7? Do I just need to download the latest TI OS version in 64 bit and will that take care of installing the Cubase VST end of it also? Or is that a separate download? Like I said I really don't remember if I had to set up busses, vst folder, etc when I installed the TI originally because it was about 6 years ago. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,

You should be fine with the latest OS update. If both your Windows and Cubase are 64 bit, get the 64 bit version for the Virus, if not, stick with 32.

There's a folder where you should have your plug-ins. Think it's something like C:/programs/steinberg/vstplugins as default, but pretty much any installer will presumably through the files in all the right places, if not, you can search for them and place them there.

That's all there is to it. Cheers
