Vocoder help..

Hi, I'm trying to get the audio to sound like it's a low saw wave but talking. What I do is I program a real basic saw patch a few octaves down, route the audio to the virus and stick the vocoder in osc mode. The audio modulates the saw patch but the problem is that I can't get it to put out the syllables correctly, it just sounds muffled and you can't really understand what the vocal is saying.

Any advice on how to get it sounding clearer? I'm using the poco virus if that helps

Try using another plugin. Ive never had much luck with the one in the virus. I use the one in Live 8 with the Virus as the carrier with great results.

So true, the Virus vocoder can be really annoying sometimes to program and get to sound right. The Live 8 vocoder is as easy as they come to use.
