Default FL Studio users - need your help, please!!!

For those using registered copy of FL Studio and having access to their Looptalk forum at www.flstudio.com site.

There is a competition for making various Dashboards. For those not familiar with it, its a visual tool to create the environment with a GUI to control your external synth, assigning various controls to knobs and sliders. So, I have created a Virus B Dashboard (which most likely can be used with A or C as well), which has mutli-page interface, and over 80 controls assigned to different Virus functions. The way how this competition is judged is by people voting for their favorite Dashboard. You can find all the details in their Looptalk forum at the top in "Dashboard competition" topic.

So, please, if you guys can go there and test my Virus Dashboard. And, if you like it, vote for me by replying to my original post there? That would really help me and will also help to spread a good word about our favorite synth as well.

Thank you in advance!!!

Can you recommend FL Studio for making pro loops? I know some people don't take Fruityloops seriously as a tool but really it all depends on the quality of the samples you put through it doesn't it? What do you think?

Loops?!? Have you tried their full functioning demo? FL Studio is a full blown sequencer with a multi-track audio recording, full midi support, ASIO support, very advanced piano roll, 64-channel mixer with send effects and virtual routing, also supporting VSTi/VST, DXi/DX, and bundled with lots of internal synths and effects. I make all of my songs with it, and also control my Virus B from it as well. So, as you can see, its more than just loop-making program. Of course, the quality of sound will depend on quality of your samples or instruments you use. You can check out some of the songs I made with it at:
http://www.europemusic.com/audio/twister.html - some remixes of 90's eurodance songs and original trance/club tracks.

Hmmm, thanks for the info. It sounds like FL Studio is pretty good. You see, I'm just considering whether to get dedicated hardware drum machine or use samples with FL Studio.

Smag,

Have you looked into Spectrasonics Stylus?

I have owned a DM Pro for over a year now and now never use it - am thinking of selling it.

Stylus is a fantastic piece of kit. Why not get a demo and see what you think? 3.5 gig of percussion loops &samples. Each loop was created, recorded onto vinyl and then sampled from the vinyl to achieve that little bit of je ne sais qua! Quite astonishing sound.

Just a thought.

Martyn

Cheers, I've heard of Stylus only in passing. I think I'll check it out.

my first post back in a long ass freakn time...and i wasnt going to post but this just has to be said...I use FL studio...and what u said above about it being as full blown sequencer is not true...the fact that u can only have one output sync makes is extremely limited....not to menthion the fact the the developer himself said they r not a midi sequencer to me personally and that they only use it as an added bonus for ppl who want to export and import midi data...which isnt always imported correctly...hell he said if u want a midi sequencer go with logic cubase or calkwalk...and he said there engine is not midi based...it is for VST and DXI users and sample users...which it is great for but try to update your virus OS on it LOL....
Now dont get me wrong i love the software for what it is but i dont like that fact that he told me he was not going to enhance the midi on it kinda pisses me off because that is all they need...to compete with the big boys...the software is still limited in the aspect of studio software but is quite useful for a sampler or some1 who cant afford to buy the big stuff or doesnt want to take the time to learn more about midi...or some1 that uses just VSTis and or maybe 1 synth...but still has quite a ride to go...A++ for what it is...and i have been a user since the beta...

peace
Blank

Gee, I haven't been here in awhile too. Even forgot about this post. Anyway, I actually won their Dashboard contest and got $200 certificate to audiomidi.com (where I bought Echo Audio Indigo IO for my laptop). OK, enough of bragging

Well, I kind of have to agree. FL Studio is more for soft synth and I found it to be very stable running all of my VSTi/DXi synth. Its all up to a personal preference. You can get a full free demo of FL Studio at www.flstudio.com and make a decision for yourself. Good luck!
