Work in progress....
After listening to everyones works here, I thought I should post a link to download one of my "works in progress...." (of which there are WAY too many!) The song still needs some arrangement as it is a little repetitive, and maybe some vocal/sample work.
The site is:
http://stickychicken.tripod.com/
(Link to download Located at the bottom of the page)
Would love any feedback (Negative or positive).Any questions about production techniques etc just ask. Enjoy!
Jason
P.S it is great to hear all the different styles/genres of music that people are producing, and some really good stuff out there too!

Hi mate,
Taking a listen now.
Quite a nice track, kind of melodic and cruzy. Like you little reversing sections and the like.
Drums - nice production, minimal but puchy enough. One thing though, I'd remove the vinal effect. First off the song isn't the sort of track I'd hear a vinal effect in, plus it's been done and re-done. Other than that really nice.
Piano - Realy like the compostion, but the sounds seem a little too general midi generated if you know what I mean.
Bass - Like the bass alot. I'm listening on headphones today though, so I won't comment on the prodcution too much.
Guitar - Maybe my favourite part of the track. Definitely creates the laid back feeling.
All in all, a nice track mate. I'm really glad to hear a different style showing it's head on the board. I was dredding this was gunna be trance, so I was pleasantly surprised.
Thanks for the listen

Cheers for the feedback.
Im glad you liked the guitar, as this is definately my favorite part of the track, especially at the end where it is by itself. It is almost haunting.
Drums (Motif) - I know the vinyl effect is rather cliche'....I was trying to dirty it up a bit using TC Works Sonic Destructer plug...... I'll look at it again, maybe make it not so present in the mix.
Piano (Motif) - Yeah, I know what you mean. I still havent played with the audio much, basically just recorded the MIDI and left it ie no compression etc
Bass (real) - I struggle sometimes to get a nice bass sound, this time it was D.I, then I put it through the behringer tube pre, then into my DBX compressor. I applied EQ at the pre amp stage aswell, to add a little more bottom end.
At the moment I am still finding my feet genre-wise, and have an assortment of different tracks, ranging from pop/rock to nu-skool breaks. I will post something new soon.....maybe a breaks track (cos I noticed you are kinda into that stuff). Thanks again for the constructive critiscism!
Cheers,
Jason

It's nice to have someone else on the board that's into a few different types of music. Variety is the spice of life (as they say - who are "they" anyway, but still..). I enjoy making a mixture too, although breaks are the only thing I have online at the moment.
No problems with the contructive crit. Feel free to pick the shit out of mine too if you like.
