Default Controller software

hi all, i have probs with my sound driver, as i recog, im not the only one
i always get the SysEx error massage when trying 2 load the virus patches into the sounddriver.
when im doing the midi test in the sounddriver it shows that my midi interface aint working properly. but with my sequener i can work without problems, the midi signal is very precise.
Im useing a DMx 6fire with win2k.
any ideas how i can make it work ?
or any alternative software to save virus patches on the computer?
thanks 4 ur help

If it's working OK in your sequencer, I think you can rule out Win 2k and DMX Fire as being part of the problem, these won't have anything to do with the Virus transmitting data to Soundiver.

It's not going to be the Virus either because it's transmitting OK to your sequencer and it uses the same process as when it transmits to Soundiver.

Firstly I'd say to check the MIDI cables.

Then have a look in the "Device" screen in Soundiver and have a play about.
Make sure the the details check out on the left hand side of this screen. (Device id - 1, correct MIDI routing). highlight one of the patches listed, right click and choose "request" to see if you can receive just 1 patch to Soundiver and also give "transmit" a go to your Virus.

If this doesn't work, then I haven't a f*$^%#!g clue

I had similar problems and upgraded to high quality gold plated MIDI cables. That sorted it.
