Default Check out Gibson's Digital Les Paul!!!

For those interested in high-tech axe slinging:

Merlot,

how does this stack up to the MIDI guitar you are looking at?

Is it equivalent or a totally different animal?

Dont know. I am having a hard time understanding gibsons concept. Is it basically a guitar that transmits digital instead of analog? Or is it trying to compete with line6 adn its range of modelling?

That's exactly what I want to know.

They have not done a good job of wetting people's appetites.

Some audio/video demos would be beneficial, eh?

with Gibsons BOB breakout box, you can select each string to an different amp, or just combine them to two or three pairs per amp - just imagine which crazy setups can be done with 6 fifferent amps attached to each string of you guitar .... absolutely amazing 8O

Hmmmmm...that is very interesting.

It would require a whole shit load of amp power though (and $$$ to get it all in place).

So I guess this thing can route a synth as well and send it MIDI?

It's got an RJ-45 cable on it so it can carry any electronic signal it wants, right?

This is a cool toy, no doubt about that!

Exactly my thoughts. I cant see the use/affordability of this for an amateur musician.
