Default Access Virus Documentary DVD

Well how about it. Access have been in the industry for over 10 years now, their synths are of classic status and everyone uses them. I think its about time Access make a video documentary. Taking a leaf out of Moog's and Dave Smith Instruments DVD......Id love to sit back with a beer and have a guided tour around the factory, interviews with the software developers/coders and get soem answers to some important questions such as: were the original virus oscilators and filters deliberately modeled on another 'classic' synth or was it a happy accident? In other words....did they just get lucky (as is often the case with classic analog synth design). Id like to know what they were trying to achieve when they were designing the Virus and Id like to see some of the technology that went into it. It would also be nice if someone could also mention how one can go about getting into DSP synth design purely from a hobbyist point of view - the whole industry seems very hush hush and inaccesible about this.

Just an idea! Who supports me on this? I'd certainly pay £35 for this.

The SynthWizard has some advice - Back in the 1980's music was better, TV was better, films were better. Not to mention fashion.... Let me help you relive the past with some classic 80's sounds from my vintage synth collection....

Who the hell is interested in a bunch of German engineers doing work? I'd rather look Timo's asshair grow, and that's quite extreme, I must say!

Unofficial Access Virus Forum DVD! HELL YEAH! Lots and lots of material: 3o3 ball shaving tips, Alex's and Steve's poo creation workshop, Matt's ABC of hedonism, footage from my, OVM's and Alex's assault at Daniel's home, Matt's tapes of Alex's wife, etc. Naturally there would be an extensive biographies of every old member on the disc and the whole disc would be full of poo, no doubt!

Put my name down! They're quite a mystical company, they don't give much info away either about themselves or the Virus itself, so it would be very interesting.

Maybe we should do a few email interviews, if not?

Actually Timo....thats a very good idea. Perhaps we could start a thread to get members to contribute some questions they'd like answered. Out of the pool we could select maybe 20 and post them to Access. I for one would like to know who the DSP programmers are......where did they get their ideas from.....did they try to model a vintage synth....or did they try to create something totally original? Was it an accident.....or did the Virus turn out how they envisenged. Id like to know what processors their using and other tech stuff.

Yes its all abit geeky i know....but when you've got 30 mins to kill with a beer late at night....it would be fun to read. Stick some photos in too.....puts a human perspective on things. There are a few pics floating on the net of the inventer/engineer who created the 303, 808 and Jupiter. When I read the info and looked at the picture it made me smile that this guy had created something so reveered......when he looked so typically....well.....conservatively japanese

Just an idea guys....dont shoot me if you think it sucks!

I like the idea.

You get interviews in magazine. A recent one with Eric Persing as an example. So why not Access. Probably wouldn't be material for the masses, but the Virus is one of the most well known and respected synths in recent times, appearing on countless hit records, so why not.
