Default TI's USB & MIDI i/o's

Hey guys,
Why is it, that when connected via USB, no midi events are passed though the midi i/o's?
Can this be changed? Seems like it's either USB or nothing with these rigs.
Doof on!

P.S. - I'm still having probs with one of the following posts. I thought it would be a standard routing feature, but seems not...

horsegrip, unless something has changed, it is one or the other - both can't be used at the same time for midi.
