There's slight difference. First one is done with Orange vocoder and the second one with Vokator. Vokators ultimate band number seems to give a bit more brightness (s's sound better).

I vote 1. Number 2 sounds... lazy and not as crunchy/tasty as 1. Which is odd. The number of bands used in Vokator go to really high levels, but I'd prefer if they had some lower values (32/16 even 4 would be nice )

1 sounds like it's smooth. It seems better for the music.

2 sounds harder. You can hear the words more, but it seems to clash with the music.

It reminds me of Spiritualized. You should get a choir in the studio.

This hardness may derive from the multiband compressor settings I had done. I first made that Orange version and I setted up the C4 for it so I added guite a lot of treble to dig out the lost s's. Then I decided to make a second version with Vikator and forgot to adjust the compressor.

So there might be too much treble. I'll have to try to adjust the compressor today and see what I'll get.
