New Member, New Virus
Hi everyone. I am from New Zealand and I've just picked up a Virus B desktop unit. I've been djing hardhouse, hardtrance for 8 years now and played guitar and bass in bands for 10 years before that so its hard to believe I'm only 25 years old.
Anyway I am wanting to create professional results at home and here is my setup at this stage.
Motu 896 24bit firewire audio card
M-Audio midisport 8x8 usb midi interface
Roland SH-32 analogue modelling synth
Novation Bass Station
Access Virus B
2 x crap midi controller keyboards
The whole word of synthesis is quite new to me but I'm learning quick and I would like to say that its awesome that there is a forum like this with so many people willing to help and share knowledge and experience.
I look forward to cutting many a phat tune with a little help from you all.

where in nz are you? I'm in Chch.
I also never bothered to introduce myself, perhaps I should do so now.
I am the lucky flatmate of someone who went and spent a bucket load on music gear and I have access (pun intended hohoho) to his Virus C, Novation A-Station, MAM MB 33 mkII, a Digi002, and some effects units (MAM Warp-9 and some alesis effects), also he has an Alesis RA-300 amp with a Pair of Alesis Monitor 2 speakers, which are like the monitor 1s but have an additional 10" cone. I can't recommend these enough.
Unfortunately I only get to tinker as I have to small kids that take up most of my spare time

yeah, and i forgot to mention the korg trinity, alesis 30 channel eq and Aphex 108 automatic compressor.
Worst thing is that my flatmate is moving to mexico so all the gear is going there too. Fortunately he is leaving it here until he has settled in so I get to keep it for the next 6 months or so.

Make the most of it!
It doesnt take alot of money to have a workable setup.....
A fast computer
Software - Sequencer, softsynths
MIDI controller
Headphones/Monitors
Dont let him leaving be the end of your creativity!!!!
