Plod Rotten. New HC track.
Some of you may be wondering...
"Where did HC get the time to make a new track considering he has just spawned a new baby boy. Surely this is a form of neglect!"
Well I feel that I'm giving him the gift of music (or at least arranged sound) is much more rewarding for a new born than having a father around. Am I wrong?!
Anyway....
I've got a new track online (thanks to Juho for hosting it) called "Plod Rotten".
http://www.juho-lepisto.com/Hollowcell-Plod_Rotten.mp3
This is very, VERY different to anything I've done before (production wise and music wise), so some feedback would be nice!
Thanks in advance guys.

ok im back and im sorry to say but i didnt like it at all.
sounds like a combination of loops and hits and too much "breaking",
no punch line to this track,in one word (this might sound harse)- boring.
i hope youl continue with your bigbeat stuff because i love thos.
i hope you will take this as a helping review and not as a bad one m8.

Woah, pretty harsh review Tomer! lol
Personally I really like the structure of the song and all the little details(you understand that groove is based around sound AND silence...very great use of small silences to emphasize the groove)
Very creative, kinda reminds me of some beats the Beastie Boys would rap on
Great stuff, I love it

Hehe, thanks for the words of wisdom there Tomer!
I was getting really fed-up with the synth music I was coming out with recently (so generic), so this one doesn't use any synths at all. Also, no four beat rythms probably doesn't help your opinion. Oh and by the way, there are no straight loops at all.
Appriciate the feedback Madstation! It's weird you mentioned the Beatie boys as I was listening to them just before getting into this track! 8O
Anyway, more comments please! Specially about the production aspect too.

Sorry HC....My net connection to my computer is down and has been for some time. Damn routers......
My dads PC is fucked and has no decent speakers, but maybe I will try to D/L anyway and then transfer to my computer for analysis.
Seems like a controversial number from the comments so far.....looking forward to hearing it.

OK......I managed to D/L it.
Great track!!!!! Very different to your usual stuff, and I think this is a good thing as you are pushing your boundaries and trying something new, instead of being complacent and sticking to what you know.
Once again....Nice track mate! Drum programming is sweet as always, and the use of samples throughout is gold. On the production front, the only ting I thought is that the first guitar kinda sample (not sure what it is) came in a little loud.
Great work......

Thanks for listening Jase!
I hear what your saying about the initial guitar sound. Maybe I'll try automating a soft EQ or fader - even a filter might go well.
Yep, gotta try new things and have fun with music. Sticking to one genre isn't good at all.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. It is getting mixed responses all over (the actual music, not production). The people here that are die hard synth heads don't think much of it, but the hip hop guys and sample manglers like it.

Really nice. Much fresher in all aspects than your previous tracks. Eww... Now there are some nasty dissonances. Tune those samples a bit, please. I'd like to hear more bass boom on the drums just to get more thick sound. Always works well with this kind of stuff.
Where are the samples from?
