Ok, so the Yamaha DX7MKII FD is fucked......
You knows guys...ive just about had enough. Im never going to buy gear from the second market again. Im now convinced that people sell 'mint' gear when its fucked in some way. Indeed, this would seem to be the case with the DX7 i had.
Im very disapointed right now. Any news on the TI guys? When's that fucker going to be released then?

The unit totally died on me.....but before it did it made one hell of a distorted sound....then bang. I didnt over power it....it just happened when i turned it on. I tested the unit at the guys house....it was fine. Might have been a power spike...but i use a surge protector on synths.
The unit wont power up now at all. If it was analog it could be fixable....but when it comes to digital hardware......repairs arent often possible. Im pretty depressed now.

That's horrible luck DS. I really hope something turns out mate. Are you sure it wasn't on some sort of power tranformer or something when you first looked at it.
Anyway mate. Hang in there!

Seems like a powerconverter breakdown. If it is you don?t have to worry about the actual synth parts. Maybe it?s just a fuse. By the way, powerconverters are always analog no matter how digital the synth is
