Baffled!
Starting a new track in cubaseSX3.1, and using the virus over USB with VC.
I play the virus and select sounds with no problems.
Ok here is the problem. I have old tunes in cubase that I now want to add some virus sounds to. I load up the old track and select virus in vst instruments and select it on a new track in the arrangement window select a sound in VC play the keys but no sound! Midi from virus shows is sending and receiving over USB but no sounds. I have checked in device setup and everything looks ok the same as if I was just starting a tune with the virus.
Baffled me.
Talk about ghosts in the machine. This virus is haunted
What's new in this r2 update anyway?

Did you get the little 1/4 notes in the top right of the Virus' display?

I don't know whether it has been established where the fault lies here. If it lies with Steinberg (which I suspect), we'll just have to wait for them to fix it.
I know other VSTi's with arpeggiators don't have this problem, but it's not as simple as that - the Virus Control is unlike any other VSTi, because it is not native, and apparently requires more information to sync properly.
If SX3 is the only host which has this particular problem, and only during export, it does seem to suggest that the fault lies within SX3 and not the TI. If you think about it, since export has to be done in realtime, there is absolutely no way the Virus can tell whether you are exporting or simply playing back a track - and really, there should be no difference between these two situations - but there obviously is in SX3..

No it?s not only in export that the Arp clock losses sync, it's when you change the patches in VC as well! So I don?t think the problem is with Steinberg.
I think these two problems are related to a Virus TI fault in the VC software!
