Default Quick Question - XLR Cables

Can you get these in both Anologue and or Digital?

Or are all cables with XLR connections just the same?

Its for a mixer to monitors connection.
AES/EBU Digital.

Cheers

As far as i can tell AES/EBU is the same as pipelight and uses an optic cable.
XLR is just balaced analog cable.
dont take my word on this tho.

I've now gone for Digital Coax for the Mixer to monitor connection.

AES/EBU is not the same as lightpipe.

AES/EBU is pro standard, balanced digital connection, used for long runs, as opposed to S/PDIF (Coaxial) which is consumer level, Un-balanced digital, only suitable for very short runs.

AES/EBU looks the same as XLR but IT IS NOT. If you have the option of using AES/EBU over S/PDIF coax, you should use the AES/EBU, but NOT with normal XLR connections...

Goo luck!
