Default Leopard problems

NOBODY GET problems in leopard using the usb TI audio drivers?

latest v251

I have in the ActivityMonitor process the voice UserEventAgent not responding i get it immediatly after installed the virus ti drivers, just remove the de.access-music.virus_ti.plugin from library/audio/plugins/HAL folder and no more crashes for the usereventagent. But it means cant use virus TI usb audio.

Some body runs leopard and have the same issues?

yep, same deal here. I cant believe leopard has been out this long and still no word from access on a driver update. it's not even a big fix, all of my other hardware (even digidesign!) works out of the box or has a patch.

i also get that usereventagent issue, and I had no idea what was causing it. makes sense that it would be the virus driver!

yet, they still released their new product (virus ti snow). another case of neglecting existing customers and just focusing on new ones.

A lesson: Never upgrade OS without making sure all you existing apps/plugs/whatever is compatible

A lesson for upgraders indeed. However, its not much wisdom for someone (me) who bought a Mac for the first time and can't use a couple of devices which work fine with XP/Vista. I can't even get Tiger disks while waiting for full Leopard compatibility. What's with that Apple?

Fortunately I actually wanted a Mac and not trying to look cool with the 'creatives'.

Cheers,
B

I just sent them an email via their web form. I encourage those that are looking for a leopard update to share their sentiments as well. Maybe they think there is no demand for it.

That's unfortunate. The beauty of the Mac is you can usually plug in ANYTHING and it ALWAYS seems to work. Even without a driver most the time. At least that's been my experience for the last 13 years.

I always stay a little behind with my OS anyway. I'll probably run 10.4 for a while now. Don't fix it if it's not broken I guess.
