Default getting a Virus TI2 soon... questions...

Due to there not being much information about the Virus Ti2 on the internet I'd like to ask a few questions that I need answered. I'm buying my virus sometime in the next few months (around november) and I'm wondering what all the fetures it has. I know it has a vocoder but how good is it? Also how many patches/sounds does the virus have built in?

For now my main synth is the microKORG but it's time for an upgrade so I'm going for the best. I'm not a complete noob when it comes to synths due to messing around on minimoogs from time to time and playing the heck outta my microkorg. Anyway, I hope you guys can give me a few answers and some details on what the virus actually sounds like.

Also... I posted this in another thread but... In the song "Timothy Where Have You Been" there's a choir sound that starts in at about 38 seconds into the song... Can someone please confirm its a sound from the virus?

The first thing I upgraded to after my microkorg was logic. I am assuming as an up and coming synthesist, you probably will want to eventually lay down some tracks, right? Getting a software sequencer is ESSENTIAL if you want to make music. If you dont have a mac, ableton is a great option, too (among many others). Plus, logic comes with a GREAT set of soft-synths and effects that are VERY capable of producing LOADS of sounds that the microkorg couldn't even fathom. (I'm sure the other programs have great built in stuff, too, but I don't have experience with them.

From there, you can experiment with some heavy hitting VSTs like sylenth or zebra which BLOW logic's synths out of the water and are very respectable competition to the virus for a fraction of the price.

But if you decide to go the ti2 route, I highly doubt there is any possible way you could be disappointed. Although the sound quality wont be as good as an analogue synth of equal value, the bells and whistles built in in the virus (effects, wavetables, etc) are enough to give you sonic possibilities that will make you in your pants.

As far as the vocoder goes, I have had my virus for about a month now and have been so preoccupied with other functions I haven't even gotten to it yet. Perhaps one of the pros out there can offer some more in depth info.

Hope this helps!
