Default Analog diehard here, new to VA and lovin' it!

Hi there, all. I've finally gotten a VA: the Virus B. I got it at an exceptionally good price, and I was originally planning to move it on ebay and make a few bucks, but I updated the OS, and have grown fond of the versatility of the Virus and, especially, the Parameter Smoothing. (why doesn't everybody do it?)

I started out classically trained in percussion(played tympani in a symphony for a year), but have tried to be self-educating in other areas as well. (Played guitar in a punk band, bass as well.) Went and got a degree in audio engineering, did that for some years.

Nowadays, I'm married, got a decent job for now, and am finally building my gear back up after having it all grabbed by a flaky ex-roommate.

Specifically, I've got a few VCO analogs: Yamaha CS-15, Roland SH-101, Moog Voyager; 2 DCOs: Siel DK600, Siel MIDI Expander. One FM/Rompler: Yamaha TG33, one Sampler/Rompler: Roland MC-909, and a few hardware effects: Roland EF-303(70% poop, 30% gold, but the gold is soooo nice), Akai MFC42 analog filter, Digitech 3.6 looping digital delay. 1 virtual analog: Virus B picked up for a shamefully low price, and which I'm just getting into. I've used a Mac for years, but my Mac is showing its age by now. My wife built me a screamin' PeeCee, so I've gotten into the Windows world of late (and sung my womon's praises more than once). Yeah, I've got some software, too. Reason (boring, but good for working some stuff up quick), Ableton Live (brilliant, intuitive, superlatively great piece of software), Reaktor Session (yeah, of course I want to upgrade but, you know, money), lots of weirdo Mac sound design stuff (SoundHack, MarcoHack, SonicWorx...)

I'm interested in pushing boundaries, making experimental "music", always learning more. How to induce brainwaves of a particular frequency? Been there. The grey area between comprehension and noise? Always exploring. I've done the "let's make excrement to the n power aping Producer n(-1)" too often. I'm ready for something different.

I believe in the free exchange of information. I hope I can help some folks here, and reap some unique and creative ideas. I couldn't care less about imitation. Let's create!
