Stab Sounds

Hi,

Im writing drum and bass and want to stick in some home made mid-to-high stabs sounds. i want dark and nasty sound, but I only seem to get the same sorta buzzy metalic sound every time i program. Is there any D&B producers that can give me some tips on creating really good stabs? Or possibly send me a few patches so that i can bung them into the virus to see how they r programmed.
